Accessibility and Equal Access

The Cliffside Park Public Library stands to provide equal access to all. The library offers designated handicapped parking spots in the municipal complex parking lot (access from Palisade Avenue). There is a ramp located near these parking spaces that leads to the ADA accessible front door. There is a handicapped accessible restroom as well as a lift to take patrons between the lower, main and loft levels. Staff is also on hand to aide in retrieving materials.

If you are a resident or family member of a resident in need of homebound service, please contact the Adult Services desk at 201-945-2867 ext. 110 and a drop-off/pick-up of materials can be arranged.

Senior Citizens and/or the disabled in Cliffside Park are able to make arrangements for transportation to the library via Senior Transportation. Please call 201-943-3768 for reservations.

There is a New Jersey Transit bus stop directly outside our front door. For those patrons arriving via NJT’s Access Link, please request that the driver stop nearer to the ramp if necessary.

Assistive Technology The library has equipment for the needs of the blind and visually impaired, such as a Go-Vision Pro, Pearl Camera, Braille Keyboard and sophisticated text-to-speech software (JAWS). Additionally, the software is available on a ChromeBook and a Juvenile computer. Please bring your own headset. Staff members at any service point desk can direct patrons to the equipment.
